I am writing this blog post today because I will be at Model UN tomorrow. Therefore, I will be missing a Vault session tomorrow. This week I only had one vault session in class because we watched presentations in the other class. I made up for this by completing a Vault session in my free study and a Vault session at my house. In the Vault session in class, I watched two podcasts from the Digital Marketing Podcast which I found on Spotify. It took me a while to dig, but I found two good ones: The State of Digital Skills and Education and The 4 P’s of Marketing. These kind of just refreshed my memory on what my first sources were on. I also annotated, read, and took notes on two sources on celebrities. One dealt with celebrities in Super Bowl ads and the other dealt with celebrities in ads in general. I learned that consumers are actually more attracted to commercials or ads with celebrities because it grabs their attention and they end up trying the product in hopes of achieving the same “image” as the celebrity. I found these two sources incredibly interesting because they helped me realize a new factor in ways that people are attracted to certain ads. I plan to continue researching what makes ads and commercials attractive and grasping to customers and what techniques are used to achieve this.
